17th Century Renovation

Originally carved for a Duke’s palace in Italy and reconstructed in Hawaii, this classical Carrera marble mantel tells the story of the Renaissance in stone. Moberg’s team of stone masons and artisans carefully restored this mantel, fabricating museum-quality replacements for lost pediments, and a new armature of steel. A full complement of antique firedogs, fender, and firebacks, along with a custom ceramic lining, restored timeless splendor. A custom fabricated Moberg Gas Grating fills the firebox, and its glow reveals the carvings of the corbelled jambs.
