Classical Gas Log Sets

Moberg’s training and experience in classical architecture has restored wood-burning gratings to their robust and historic origins. For decades, Americans have been subjected to mass-produced gratings that no longer honor the hearths or the wood burned on the hearth. Large and massively thick iron ribs supported real fires in the centuries before gas and electricity, and vertical iron spires kept logs from rolling out of the fireboxes. Now, with recreations using gas fires, Moberg’s Classical Gas Log Sets are the most realistic and historically accurate reproductions of the past. Three different kinds of sets are produced, from the refined Georgian Series to the robust Lodge Series and to the simpler Traditional Series. All of these classically respectful sets are designed to be supported by andirons, firedogs, or chenets, in the tradition where the fire was raised in the box and its ambience enjoyed across the room. We also produce period variations of these gratings, including contemporary custom designs.
